We Need You

“Be passionate and be involved in what you believe in, and do it as thoroughly and honestly and fearlessly as you can”- Marie Colvin.  With our annual conference just days away, I want to extend an invitation for your involvement.  I think it’s safe to say that most of us are extremely passionate about travel and tourism, that’s why we do what we do!  As we begin to prepare for 2020, I would encourage you to get involved in one of our committees.  Whether it’s Public Policy, Education, or Silent Auction committee all three are extremely important to our association and our industry.

Public Policy allows you an opportunity to stay apprise of industry issues and offer your support for legislative initiatives as it relates to tourism.  This committee’s work is extremely important as we collaborate and partner with our lobbying team and other industry associations to continue to share our story and protect and preserve our impactful industry.

Knowledge is power!  The Education committee provides input and assistance in providing topics and speaker recommendations for our two annual conferences, our Educational Summit in June and our Annual Meeting in October.  Professional and personal development opportunities are critical and MACVB strives to ensure we provide high quality, valuable educational opportunities for our members.

The Silent Auction is an opportunity for your association to financially grow and allow us to continue the work we do in advocacy, education, and industry involvement.  This is a great opportunity for you to connect with your community partners and marketing relationships to offer an opportunity to support our industry through donations and participation.

John Stuart Mill said it best, “Any participation, even in the smallest public function, is useful. “ I strongly encourage you to consider these opportunities of involvement.  Your participation is how we grow and succeed in our industry!
