Learn.  No matter how experienced you are, everyone can learn.  You’ll be exposed to a variety of points of view, new ideas and trends, new ways to conduct business and to be more productive.

Network.  Collaboration is the way to approach networking.  You’ll uncover ideas and be inspired when you get to know each other on a personal level.

Encounter new vendors and suppliers.  They are some of the best people for you to get to know if you want to learn more about the current industry climate.  Discovering innovative products and services is necessary to stay competitive in today’s fast-paced world.

Have fun.  All work and no play can get old fast.  The agenda mixes a social aspect into your learning experience.  Never underestimate the power of a little fun mixed with some interesting people!

3:15 p.m. 30 Ideas in 30 Minutes

A “speed” sharing of the best ideas from your colleagues around Minnesota. The best practices and successes (large and small) are happening all around you. All members are invited to submit your shining star! Bring your notebook as you’ll want to write down these best tips and tricks in the industry.

10:15 a.m. General Session: When Your Community Gets Negative Press
Duluth Mayor Emily Larson and Visit Duluth President Anna Tanski share their recent experience when President Trump was in Duluth. Chris Duffy, Goff Public (invited) provides best practices and tips for handling “bad press”.

11:15 a.m. MACVB Public Policy and Advocacy

Our lobbying team of Todd Hill and Tony Kwilas represents our industry at the State capitol. Learn about the strategy we’ll take for the 2019 session and how you can get involved to advance the tourism industry in Minnesota.

12:00 p.m. MACVB Annual Member Meeting/Lunch

Members will elect new Directors and Officers and other MACVB business. An update of the work in progress to advance MACVB’s goals and strategies.

1:15 p.m. Leveraging EMT’s Social Media in Your Community/Caitlin Rick

Top creative and management executives from Adventure Creative, Explore Minnesota’s new agency, will be discussing their new strategic direction. EMT social media expert, Caitlin Rick will guide you through how to leverage their campaign for your CVB.

2:15 p.m. Trip Advisor Pilot Program for Minnesota’s CVB/DMO’s

Casey Benn, Senior Destination Marketing Executive, will introduce a new program offered from Trip Advisor to enhance your marketing program and share best practice tips you can use in your community.

3:00 p.m. Break

3:15 p.m. Get Your Questions Answered (by your colleagues!)

To close out the conference, your seasoned CVB/DMO executives will answer questions in an open, round robin format. Ask any (pertinent) question or raise an issue you’re facing — someone is bound to have an answer or tip to help you out.
